How do I add time slots for deliveries and pickups?

Allow your customers to choose a time slot along with their ordering date!

Written by Cococart Support Team

Adding delivery time slots is a smart move for merchants who want to keep customers happy and operations running smoothly. Letting shoppers choose their preferred delivery window means more convenient, on-time arrivals—and a much better overall experience. 🤩

Here's how to set pickup and delivery time slots on your dashboard:

  1. Go to your admin dashboard and head to the Fulfillment settings page

  2. Scroll down to Schedule and select Time slots

  3. You can select between applying the time slots to the Pickup or Delivery methods:

  4. Set your desired hours accordingly. The available time slots in your shop will follow the hours you configure, starting from your first time slot and ending at the last. You can customize different time slots for each day, so make sure to review and enable all operating days to reflect your schedule accurately.

Then this is how the time slots will appear in your shop:

NOTE: Since the last option is 6:00 PM, the last slot available in your shop is 5:30 PM since the length you set is 30 minutes. You can also set a lead time, which is the time between the placement of an order and the actual delivery, providing a crucial timeframe for you to prepare, process, and fulfill customer requests.

To avoid conflicts when changing fulfillment methods (e.g., switching to pickup-only), remove all existing time slots before making changes. This ensures that time slots align with the active fulfillment methods and prevents scheduling issues.

Configuring Pickup-Only Options

To make your store pickup-only and remove the delivery address prompt:

  1. Head to the Fulfillment settings page

  2. In the Delivery section, disable or remove any active delivery methods and their details.

  3. In the Pickup section, configure your pickup details, such as location and availability.

Important: The system collects customer addresses only when a delivery method is active. Once delivery is disabled and only pickup is configured, the “What’s the delivery address?” question will no longer appear.

Adding Late-Night Time Slots (11:59 PM)

Cococart now supports an 11:59 PM end-time option to help merchants manage late-night and overnight availability more accurately.

This option is available in:

  • Fulfillment time slots

  • Booking form settings

  • QR code ordering settings

When setting your time slots:

  1. Select your start time as usual.

  2. Choose End of day as the end time if you want availability to run until midnight.

  3. If you want to continue availability past midnight, add a time slot for the next day starting at 12:00 AM.

The system treats 11:59 PM → 12:00 AM as continuous, with no break in availability.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Delivery Address Prompt Still Appears: Double-check that all delivery methods are disabled in the Fulfillment settings.

  • Conflicting Time Slots: Ensure that time slots are removed before restricting fulfillment methods to pickup-only.

  • Time slots are tied to fulfillment method settings. If you restrict fulfillment methods (e.g., limiting to pickup-only days), ensure that time slots correspond to the active methods to avoid conflicts.

📝 Important notes:

  • This feature is only available for shops with their Calendars enabled.
Turn on the toggle for Fulfillment dates before assigning time slots.

  • Your delivery/pickup slots will be unavailable if you turn on your time slots. Instead, you can limit the number of orders per time slot by toggling on "Limit orders. We're actively working on supporting both options.
