Why are my pickup reminder emails not sending or going to spam?

If you’re experiencing issues with these emails not sending or being marked as spam, the following guide explains the most common reasons and solutions.

Pickup reminder emails are an essential part of ensuring smooth order fulfillment.

To check the settings for Email Reminders:

  1. Head over to the Fulfillments page.

  2. Scroll down to Schedule > Email Reminder

If the delivery is for tomorrow, your customer should be able to receive this email today (September 8, 2026) at 8 AM.

Timing and Scheduling of Email Reminders

Pickup reminder emails are sent based on the timing settings you configure in Cococart. These settings determine when reminders are sent relative to the order’s fulfillment date. Here’s how it works:

  • Reminder Timing Settings: If you’ve set reminders to be sent a specific number of days before the fulfillment date (e.g., “1 day before”), the email will only be sent when that timing window is reached.

For example, if an order’s fulfillment date is several days in the future, the reminder will not be sent until the configured time frame is met.

  • Future Fulfillment Dates: Orders with fulfillment dates far in the future will not trigger immediate reminders. The system waits until the reminder timing aligns with the fulfillment date to send the email.

Email Deliverability and Customer Consent

If your emails are being marked as spam or you’re concerned about customer consent affecting deliverability, consider the following:

  • Spam Filtering: Cococart sends emails from verified servers, which minimizes the likelihood of emails being flagged as spam. However, emails may still land in spam folders if recipients manually mark them as spam or if their email provider applies strict filtering rules. Unfortunately, Cococart cannot control individual inbox filtering.

  • Customer Consent: The “agree to receive emails/notifications” checkbox in Cococart pertains to marketing communications, such as newsletters or promotional announcements. It does not impact the delivery of transactional emails like pickup reminders. These reminders are sent regardless of whether customers have opted into marketing emails.

What to Check

If a customer says they didn’t receive a pickup reminder:

  1. Check the order’s scheduled pickup or fulfillment date.

  2. Confirm that the reminder timing has been reached.

  3. Check whether the email was sent and ask the customer to check their Spam or Junk folder.

  4. Confirm that the customer’s email address is correct.

  5. Remember that marketing email preferences do not affect transactional pickup reminders.

If the reminder should have been sent but still hasn’t been received, contact Cococart Support at [email protected] so we can investigate further. 😊
