Before you initiate a domain transfer, make sure you:
Have access to your domain’s admin (registrant) contact email.
— This is where transfer authorization codes and approvals will be sent.
Confirm the domain is eligible for transfer.
— Most domains cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration or previous transfer as per ICANN policy.
Ensure your domain isn’t locked.
— Registrars often lock newly issued domains to prevent unauthorized transfers.

Once support confirms, the registrar status on your domain will be updated from locked to unlocked so it can be transferred out. This step is crucial — domains that are locked cannot be transferred.
After unlocking, you’ll receive an authorization code (also called an EPP code). This is a secure key that your new registrar will require to start the transfer.

Your current registrar (via our registrar partner) will send a confirmation email to the domain’s administrative contact.

Your domain will now be managed through your new registrar.

Your Cococart shop will no longer automatically renew the domain — manage renewals directly with your new provider. Your shop will also be reverted to the default .cococart.co domain.
