What if I am individually registered or prefer not to provide business info?

With our new payment partner, some requirements have changed—here’s what that means for you and your options.

We understand—not every seller has a registered business, and not everyone is comfortable sharing business details. You're not alone, and we're here to support you. 💛

With our new payment partner, Xendit, payouts now require a verified business entity, such as a sole proprietorship, as part of their Know Your Customer (KYC) process. It enables our merchants to accept automated GCash and Credit Card payments.

If You’re Not Yet a Registered Business

If you are individually registered or prefer not to provide business registration documents, you can still start accepting payments on Cococart.

For unregistered businesses, QR PH and automated bank transfers are automatically approved, so you can start receiving payments without submitting business verification documents.

Why use QR PH?

With QR PH, customers can pay using:

  • Local bank mobile apps

  • E-wallets that support QR PH

  • Any QR-enabled banking app

This allows you to accept both bank and e-wallet payments through a single QR code, making it easier for customers to complete their purchases.

💡 Recommended for new merchants

If you are just starting out or do not have business registration documents yet, we recommend signing up as an unregistered business and activating QR PH. This lets you:

  • Start accepting payments immediately

  • Accept payments from both banks and e-wallets

  • Avoid delays caused by business verification

You can always update your account and complete business verification later if your business becomes formally registered.

Is this mandatory?

Just to clarify, completing Xendit onboarding is not mandatory.

If you prefer not to go through the Xendit verification process or do not have a registered business, that’s completely fine. You can continue selling on Cococart and collect payments manually.

You may also continue accepting credit card payments through PayPal if that option works better for you.|

We understand that every seller’s situation is different, and we’re happy to help you find the setup that works best for your business.

Feel free to let us know if you’d like assistance exploring alternative payment options. 😊
